Meet Dr. Mary Hartigan
Dr. Mary Hartigan has been a practicing periodontist since 1989. She received both her dental and periodontal degrees from the University of Florida, Gainesville. She earned her periodontal board certification in 1995.
Mary is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry as well as serving on the faculty of Florida State College at Jacksonville. She has taught periodontal courses throughout the United States and Canada and has published a number of scientific papers.
Dr. Hartigan is the primary periodontal educator for the dental hygiene students at FSCJ. In 2014, she was awarded the Lucy Hobbs Project’s Industry Icon Award.
Alan and Mary have been married since 1980 and have four children: one is a teacher and three are either dentists or dentists in training. They are a unique “periodontal couple” — one of the few married and board-certified pairs of periodontists in the U.S.
